If Christ is the Mediator between God and man, would a programmer say he is the Interface between God and Man? Some of Christ's self-titles verge on interface language: the gate, the door.
If Christ is the image of God, would a movie-buff say he is God's Cameo Appearance?
Would an artist call him God's self-portrait?
LOL! Yes, I suppose so.
ReplyDeleteHe's the "express image" of God, "express" meaning pressed out -- you know, like a finger print or a rubber stamp.

Why not Jesus as the soul of God in the brain of a man?
ReplyDeleteAnd "Being transformed into the image of Christ" could be having a New Template for our minds.
ReplyDeleteI think "the soul of God in the brain of a man" would get across the idea to people who just don't get it about the incarnation, or people who have never really heard it before. A lot of people actually think Jesus was just this great guy and we've decided to worship him. They don't get it about who he said he was and why we believe it.
Take care & God bless

ReplyDeleteThese examples are very interesting...
ReplyDeleteAll of the analogies remind me of the parables, and the way Jesus was trying to explain the Kingdom of God to a bunch of farmers and fishermen. He used their language.
However, He also said to the disciples that only the people who had "ears to hear" would get what He was saying.
I know it can be hard sharing the Gospel with people who just want to see Jesus as a good man or a prophet...
But that will be all that they see until God removes the scales from their eyes. If they are seeking Him, they will find, and the scales will be removed...
You are doing your part in planting and watering the seeds... God will bring the increase in His time and in His way.
