But there are far more that are not.

Take care & God bless
Anne / WF
Weekend Fisherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10425001168670801073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15860677.post-65618480334512458022013-12-07T23:00:12.896-06:002013-12-07T23:00:12.896-06:00You have a good point. Sometimes, in seeking simplicity, we make life complicated for we make generalizations and like to have principles that guide us. For some, that means a literal interpretation of the Bible, for others it means seeking to know God and to love God with all of our being and to love others as we love ourselves. Thanks for your blog that makes me think. "Complicated" is something that quickly gives diminishing returns. That is, maybe the first few "refinements" make things better, but after that every added complication makes things work *worse* than before.

Or from my own line of work: I've lost count of how many times I've had to update another person's program, started by cutting out 20%-30% of it before adding my own features. When it was done, it did *more* than when I started, despite being noticeably shorter and simpler.

Complicated systems are generally self-defeating.

Take care & God bless
Anne / WF
Weekend Fisherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10425001168670801073noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15860677.post-86858945037885460702013-12-06T19:52:14.874-06:002013-12-06T19:52:14.874-06:00While in graduate school, I attended lectures by a...While in graduate school, I attended lectures by a person who became a Nobel Prize winner. His lectures, as I recall, were a model of clarity and making fairly complex science simple enough to understand.Martin LaBarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14629053725732957599noreply@blogger.com
